I am 37 years old and I have been writing poetry since I was about 13. With a rough time growing up, words became my outlet. They helped me through so many hard times and I wish I had the ability to put Music to words, but I can’t, so the lyrics have just sat here, when they could be helping so many others. Music is the key to the soul, and it’s always been a big part of my life. I want to help others through my words.

Broken 
I sit in my dark room
And try  not to cry
The earth is shattering around me
And i don’t know why

I’m  try and push past this
A Feeling deep inside
My  mind playing tricks
As i sit there and hide

Im staring in a mirror
Feeling very low
A face hiding dark thoughts
A face i no longer know

I  try picture my family
And wonder how they will be
When i take your life
And finally feel free

Im Tired of the hurt
And tired of the pain
There’s nothing left to loose
And nothing left to gain

Im feeling very empty
Even though the pains inside
The darkness has taken over
And I feel I might cry

Im ready to end the suffering
Im ready to end this pain
Is your life worth saving
Or should I end the pain

I look over to the gun
And over to the pills 
I start to reach forward 
But my hands stills

I’m am not alone out there 
There are more just like me 
Fighting to be the people
That everyone knew I could be 


My family by my side
As I take steps inside
To get the help I need
And to be truly pain free

My life is worth living 
My life is worth seeing
My life is worth loving
My life is worth existing 

I need to talk to someone
Instead of trying to run
I need to be honest about how I feel
So someone can help me learn how to deal

Im no longer broken
I’m  no longer low
Ive learned how to love myself 
And now it’s time to let it show
