AMEERAH JAY

Aged 18, Ameerah Jay embodies a harmony of cultures that echoes through her every note. With roots reaching into the vibrant Morocco in the African continent and the storied Romania, her voice carries the weight of centuries-old traditions, promising a journey as compelling as her diverse heritage. Change their hearts, the first single from her upcoming debut album, voices a special message about tolerance and self-worth. Ameerah was born in Switzerland in September 2005 in a household of performing artists, a Swiss-Moroccan father and a Romanian mother. Music was an integral part of Ameerah's life, as she was immersed in studio sessions, live show rehearsals, and music strategy discussions from early on. She seamlessly transitioned into a disciplined, professional, and hardworking artist, crafting her musical identity from a tender age. While Ameerah’s singing reflects a diverse array of musical influences, ranging from the soulful depths of Aretha Franklin and Ray Charles to the contemporary brilliance of Adele and Amy Winehouse, her music production skills where tutored by her father and impacted by Timbaland and Billy Eillish. At just 9 years old, Ameerah confidently featured in the professional music video production of "Sunshine" by Elam Jay. Her passion for stage ignited at 10, when she received a standing ovation after her debut performance in front of a big crowd. At the age of 14, Ameerah was poised to unveil her debut album titled "Already 14," a collection of songs inspired by her and her family’s true-life experiences. However, the album remained unreleased due to the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic in the same year, rendering the initially planned marketing strategy unfeasible. As time went by, it no longer felt right for the artist to release that album, prompting her to embark on the creation of a new one. While the first album was entirely crafted by her mentor and father, Elam Jay, the second album features songs written and produced by Ameerah herself. The creation process is unique, with music production, songwriting, and vocal recording happening simultaneously, line by line. “Change Their Hearts" is a poignant musical composition that delves into the social issue of people passing judgment based on appearances. The song reflects the profound struggle individuals face in their pursuit of ac

Will the world accept me if I change my skin?
And will they like my new color and take me in?
I’ve been craving this moment no kidding
From full, fat to fit, flat
On snapchat I’m just stunning
My dog is hot but I’m on diet,
No hotdog, the other me died
Will they love me if I cut my hair or will they shut me off?
No for them to worship me I need to lose my head,
Let my darkness take over

(Take over, over)
They love me when I’m sad, on drugs or hangover
So show how far you can go
’till your game is over

They need to change their hearts
For them to see who you really are
They need to change their hearts
For them to see who you really are

Will the world adore me if I feed my sins?
And will they adopt me will they let me win?
They told me I should lose something
At first I thought it was ‘bout my weigh
But the sum of things I lost on the way
Cost me soul and my faith
Oh! I thought I wanted to be funny, famous, pretty
So how d’you like me now?
« Uh-uh! You’re too boujee, sassy, skinny!
We won’t share your reel or your IG feed,
Girl you’re too creepy! »
Now I’m overdosed and this body is just a host and I’m a ghost
And I’ll hunt you down from cost to cost!

(Take over, over)
They love me when I’m sad, on drugs or hangover
So show how far you can go
’till your game is over

They need to change their hearts
For them to see who you really are
They need to change their hearts
For them to see who you really are

(Take over, over, over)
Will the world accept me if I change my skin?
And will they like my new color and take me in?
I’ve been craving this moment no kidding
(Take over, over, over)
