Like coffee and cake, eggs in a basket,
Boat on a lake, tisket, a-tasket.
An Indian with his feather,
We go well together,

Like sand on a beach, horse and a carriage,
Fuzz on a peach, sweetheart and marriage,
A Highlander with his heather,
We go well together.

I’ll admit, that I’m not much,
And you’re the season’s catch,
Still, outside of that small fact,
We’re a perfect match…

Like birds in the sky, soda and brandy,
Crust on a pie, baby with candy,
A harvesting in fair weather,
We go well together!

Ever since I was a kid,
I was taught, “One and one make two”,
Though it sounds quite simple,
It isn’t always true.

Now, you’ve come into my life,
I confess, this is what I find,
One and one sure does make two,
And we’re just two of a kind…

Like dollars and cents, gum in a chaser (?)
Taxes and rent, chalk and eraser,
Weatherman and his weather,
We go well together,

Like peas in a pod, hot tea and crumpets,
Bricks in a pot (?), trombones and trumpets.
Shoemaker with his leather,
We go well together.

Rooster and hen, June bride and wedding.
