Kaifi Khalil

Kaifi Khalil is a Pakistani singer and music composer who rose to fame after his appearance on Coke Studio Season 14, where he collaborated with rapper Eva B and tambura player Abdul Wahab Bugti for the hit song 'Kana Yaari.' Hailing from the underprivileged area of Lyari in Karachi, Khalil developed a passion for music from his musician father. After his father's demise, he took odd jobs to make ends meet but pursued his musical dreams, learning to play the guitar through YouTube tutorials. Khalil received formal training at the MAD School performing arts academy, where he honed his skills under directors Nida Butt and Hamza Jafri. Despite facing bullying for his interests, he persevered, starting a YouTube channel in 2015 to showcase his unique fusion of traditional Balochi music with modern sounds. His association with the I AM KARACHI organization provided platforms to perform. With popular singles like "Bya K Bacheke Abdaale" and "Tauba Tauba" composed by his father, Khalil garnered attention before his major breakthrough on Coke Studio in 2022. The Balochi pop song "Kana Yaari" he co-created became an viral sensation, amassing millions of views and making him a national star overnight. Now focused on forming a band, Khalil hopes to continue fusing his cultural roots with contemporary music styles.
