About Diva

"Diva" is a song by American singer and songwriter Beyoncé. The song was written and produced by Knowles, Shondrae "Bangladesh" Crawford, and Sean Garrett for the singer's third studio album I Am... Sasha Fierce (2008). It was released as the album's third overall single in the United States alongside the third international single "Halo". "Diva" is an R&B song, which is set in a hip hop groove, and carries a stuttering beat. Its lyrics deliver messages of independence and female empowerment. The song boasts a beat and a bassline similar to those of another Bangladesh 2008 production, "A Milli" by American rapper, Lil' Wayne; critics coined "Diva" as a "female companion" to the latter. "Diva" received mixed to positive reviews from critics, who had polarized opinions concerning its affiliation with "A Milli". Despite being released to rhythmic and urban radios only in the US, the song peaked at number 19 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, topped the US Hot Dance Club Play chart, and attained a peak position of number three on the US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. "Diva" was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), denoting shipment of 500,000 copies. Although it was only officially released in the US, the song appeared on the singles charts in Australia, Ireland, the Netherlands, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom.

I'm a-a diva (Hey), I'm a, I'm a-a diva (Hey)

I'm a, I'm a-a diva (Hey), I'm a, I'm a a diva
I'm a, I'm a a diva (Hey), I'm a, I'm a a di-

Na-na-na, diva is a female version of a hustla, of a, of a hustla, of a, of a hustla

Stop the track, lemme state facts
I told you, gimme a minute and I'll be right back
Fifty million 'round the world and they say that I couldn't get it
I done got so sick and filthy with Benjis, I can't spend it
Tell me something (Tell me something)
Where your boss at? (Where your boss at?)
'Cause my ladies up in here they like to talk back (They like to talk back)
I want to see her (Want to see her)
I'd like to meet ya (I'd like to meet her)
What you say? She ain't no diva?
Oh, no, no, no

Diva's y'all help me sing this next verse?
Here we go

Since 15 in my stilettos, been struttin' in this game
"What's yo age?" was the question they ask when I hit the stage
I'm a diva, best believe her, you see how she gettin' paid?
She ain't callin' him to greet her, don't need him, her bed's made
This is a stick-up, stick-up (I need them bags, all that money)
We're gonna stick-up, stick-up (You see them ask, "Where that money?")
All my ladies get it up, I see you, I do the same
Take it to another level, no passengers on my plane

I need them bags for that money
You seem them ask where that money
I need them bags for that money

I be getting to the money, everybody mad
I think I'm getting too much money, everybody mad
The same old nigga from the block
The same old nigga with the pot
The same old nigga from the trap
Everybody hated on him and then he bounced right back
I be getting to the money, everybody mad
I think I'm getting too much money, everybody mad
The same old nigga from the block
The same old nigga with the pot
The same old nigga from the trap
Everybody hated on him and then he bounced right back
I'm getting to the money
